Blue Canyon Country Club - Canyon Course

The Canyon Course at Blue Canyon Country Club, unveiled in 1991 in Phuket, Thailand, is a par-72, 7,179-yard championship course designed by Yoshikazu Kato. Carved from an abandoned tin mine and rubber plantations, it’s renowned as Asia’s premier golfing venue, hosting the Johnnie Walker Classic three times (1994, 1998, 2007), the Honda Invitational, and other major events. Its challenging layout, with 14 water hazards and fast Bermuda Tiff dwarf greens, earned it the title “The Ultimate Championship Course” and Best Championship Course in Asia from 2000 to 2005.

The course features narrow, tree-lined fairways, demanding par-3s, and dramatic holes like the 13th, “The Tiger Hole,” a 390-yard par-4 where Tiger Woods famously reached the green in one, and the par-3 17th, ranked among the world’s top 500 holes by GOLF Magazine. The 18th, a punishing par-4 with canyon walls and water, is considered one of golf’s toughest finishing holes. Natural hazards, including canyons and towering trees, test precision and strategy.

The Japanese Meiji-era-inspired clubhouse offers a Pro Shop with premium gear, a terraced restaurant serving Thai and international cuisine, and 31 rooms with course views. Mandatory caddies and golf carts enhance the experience, while a boutique spa and practice facilities, including a driving range and putting green, complete the luxurious setting. A strict no-outside-food policy and dress code uphold the course’s exclusivity.
